Window/Door/Conservatory Installers

Direct Window Co are now recruiting window, door or conservatory installers, due to a major expansion in our retail division.

Your role will include the installation of windows, conservatories or doors in domestic properties throughout North West area on a self employed basis.

Previous experience is essential. Ideally, applicants should have their own van and own tools (however we can supply a van).

Public Liability Insurance is mandatory. All sizes of teams/gangs will be considered. Uniform is provided.

Production Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic production assistant to help oversee a busy manufacturing process. You must have experience in manufacturing in UPVC windows, doors and conservatories.

The candidate must possess good management skills and the ability to lead from the front. Past experience running a committed workforce is a necessity. 

The main purpose of the role will be to lead, facilitate and pro-actively drive all UPVC manufacturing activities.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Ensuring optimum levels of production are achieved.
  • Improve site efficiencies to an optimum level.
  • Driving improvements in a multi-skilled environment whilst achieving deadlines.

The ideal Manufacturing Assistant Manager will have a machining/ fabricating background and will have sound understanding of a factory environment, on top of strong leadership qualities.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday plus Saturday mornings (when required).

Production Operative

Main Purpose

We are looking for Production Operatives to work within our modern manufacturing production facility, as part of the operations team within a busy assembly line fabricating and creating window, door and conservatory components to meet our customers requirements.

Job Type:

Full-time.

Monday – Friday   7.30 – 4.30 shift pattern.

Holidays: 28 days’ holiday including bank holidays.

Windows & Doors Surveyor

Direct Window Co is an industry leading manufacturer, supplier and installer of all our own thermally efficient UPVC windows, doors, composite doors and sealed units, offering quality products.

We require the candidate to accurately measure, compile/compute and process domestic contracts for manufacture and installation. General duties will include:

  • To contact customers and arrange a mutually convenient time to carry out the survey.
  • To confirm with the customer details/designs on the contract ensuring they are happy with and understand what they have ordered.
  • To undertake the survey ensuring accurate measurements are taken and processed.
  • To complete installation notes and on-site risk assessments accurately.
  • To check contract detailing and communicate necessary alterations.
  • To process all completed survey paperwork through to the preparation of installation packs.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Min Level 2 NVQ surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Good hand drawing skills and ability to make clear notes.
  • Experience in a similar role.

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Several years experience working in the glazing or construction industry.
  • Level 3 NVQ surveying.
  • Previous fitting experience (not essential).

  • Neat and concise preparation of hand written and computerised documentation.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with numerous contracts and parties simultaneously.
  • Confident and self motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.

  • Training will be provided where required.

Hours of work:

  • Typically full time (5 days a week).

Glass Cutter Operative

The organisation is a family run business who provide the most comprehensive portfolio of products, services, and solutions available for all customer’s with its expertise in home improvement products.

We are currently looking for an experienced glass cutter. The successful applicant would have experience using an auto cutting table and manual cutting of glass. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a glass factory.
