Window/Door/Conservatory Installers required

Due to expansion in our Retail department , Direct Window Co , are now recruiting for Window, Door and Conservatory installers.

These are  self-employed vacancies. Duties are to include installation of windows, conservatories and doors to domestic  properties throughout North West area. Previous experience is essential, Ideally  applicants should have own van, (however we can supply), own tools . Public Liability Insurance is needed . 2/3man teams are required in the first instance. Uniform is provided.

Production Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Production Assistant Manager required for a busy UPVC manufacturing process, must have experience in manufacturing in UPVC windows, doors and conservatories.

The candidate must possess good management skills and the ability to lead an experienced and committed workforce

The main purpose of the role will be to lead, facilitate and pro-actively drive all UPVC manufacturing activities.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Ensuring optimum levels of production are achieved
  • Keep and improve site efficiencies to an optimum level
  • Driving improvements in a multi-skilled environment whist achieving deadlines

The ideal Manufacturing Assistant Manager will have a machining/ fabricating background and will have a sound understanding of a factory environment.

On top of strong leadership qualities.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday plus Saturday mornings where required

Holidays: 28 days’ holiday including bank holidays

Production Operative – IMMEDIATE START

Main Purpose

We are looking for Production Operatives to work within our modern manufacturing production facility as part of the Operations team on a busy assembly line making and creating window, door and conservatory components to meet customer requirements.

Monday – Friday   7.30 – 4.30 shift pattern

Windows & Doors Surveyor

Direct Window Co is an industry leading manufacturer, supplier and installer of all our own thermally efficient UPVC windows, doors, composite doors and sealed units, offering quality products.

We require the candidate to accurately measure, compile/compute and process domestic contracts for manufacture and installation. General duties will include:

  • To contact customers and arrange a mutually convenient time to carry out the survey.
  • To confirm with the customer details/designs on the contract ensuring they are happy with and understand what they have ordered.
  • To undertake the survey ensuring accurate measurements are taken and processed.
  • To complete installation notes and on-site risk assessments accurately.
  • To check contract detailing and communicate necessary alterations.
  • To process all completed survey paperwork through to the preparation of Installation Packs.
  • To highlight to the Installations Manager any potential problems or anything unusual on site.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Min Level 2 NVQ Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Good hand drawing skills and ability to make clear notes.
  • Experience in a similar role.

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Several years experience working in the glazing or construction industry.
  • Level 3 NVQ surveying.
  • Previous fitting experience.
  •  
  • Window Designer Software.

  • Neat and concise preparation of hand written and computerised documentation.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with numerous contracts and parties simultaneously.
  • Confident and self motivated with a positive attitude and excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work load.
  • A keen eye for detail with an ability to foresee and communicate potential issues.
  • Trustworthy and reliable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good timekeeper.

Glass Cutter Operative

Direct Window Co is an industry leading manufacturer, supplier and installer of all our own thermally efficient UPVC windows, doors, composite doors and sealed units, offering quality products.
We are currently looking for an experienced glass cutter.

The successful candidate should have experience using an auto cutting table and manual cutting.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a glass factory
