Direct Window Co are proud to be working in conjunction with the British Army and Public Health at Blackpool Council to use lateral flow testing in our workplace.

We consistently rapid test our staff for COVID-19 in the workplace and before they visit the publics homes. All our test results are reported back to the HSE and Public health England to ensure we are keeping our customers and the public safe.

    Lateral Flow Testing

To reduce the risk of transmission we are rapid testing in the workplace. This will identify individuals who are infected but have no symptoms so they can isolate and further reduce the circulating virus. The move is part of efforts to “normalise” testing in the workplace and ensure the safety of those who cannot work from home by identifying asymptomatic carriers of Covid-19.

Public Health at Blackpool Council are working with and supporting our business to undertake Lateral Flow testing in our workplace. Direct Window Company were keen to be involved to safeguard their workforce and customers. We have undertaken this training and have been approved to carry out regular testing of their staff. We will ensure regular testing continues to protect their staff, visitors and customers.

    Covid-secure manufacturing continues

The Government was very clear that construction, manufacturing and jobs that require working in households should continue. As you may know, we have implemented a ‘Covid-secure’ approach across our company, while we must remain vigilant, this means we can keep everyone safe and continue to work through the situation our country faces. This includes social distancing guidelines, with  limits on the number of people in certain facilities, temperature checks on arrival, additional cleaning and the provision of hand sanitising stations. We all have a responsibility to follow government guidance and help slow the spread of Covid-19. We must continue to practice ‘hands, face, space’: washing hands regularly, wearing a face covering where required and maintaining social distancing. Thank you for your ongoing support in meeting these protocols.

    Taking care of our customers

The government has also been clear that we can continue working in or around customer homes, our sales offices will continue to offer a quote service and our trade-people can work inside properties following the guidance. With your help, our teams have done a great job in tackling the backlog of work caused by the lockdown earlier this year. This time, government guidance is that work within a customers home can continue, as long as our Covid- secure processes and procedures are followed. Your continued support in resolving previous issues raised by customers which is greatly appreciated.

    Working together, staying safe

These are difficult and unsettling times, and so we wanted to reassure you that you can rely on us through this period. As a strong business we will continue to meet our commitments to you. The Government is not asking people to ‘shield’ as prviously recommended. However, Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) individuals should be extra careful if we work on their home.

As well as skilled trades, our industry relies on the flow of materials and it is essential that product manufacturers, builders’ merchants and distributors continue to operate so we can commit to lead times to complete contracts. If any aspect of your job will be affected by this situation, we will try to contact you as soon as possible.

    We’ll stay in touch

As the situation continues to change, we will follow the guidance from the Government, Public Health Authorities as we have done throughout the pandemic, we will regularly review and update our own processes and procedures to reflect evolving government policy as well as feedback from our team and our customers.

We would like to thank you for your valued custom, our ultimate intention is to fulfil your order, both supply and/or installation for the dates as agreed. Should there be any unforeseen circumstances for both sides, alternative supply and/or installation dates will be offered.

We fully appreciate that these are certainly an unprecedented set of circumstances we are all trying to deal with, and we thank you so far for your ongoing support and patience at this time. We hope this update has been useful, from our family to yours please say safe.

In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact us.

    Kind regards,

    The Direct Team
